JEEP Wrangler JL Rear Park Sense (Sensors are reversed)
If the sensors are reacting on the instrument cluster reversed... Such as an object or person on the rear-right side of the vehicle but the instrument cluster saying the object or person is on the rear-left side, then there are two possible causes.
The first, is that the wiring for this kit must be performed around the front passenger side, down the right side of the vehicle, then to the bumper where the last sensor connector will be on the far left side. If the wiring wasn't followed in the installation video and went from the driver's side, then the sensors are ran in reverse.
If the installation was followed to the video, where it runs down the right side (not driver's side) then there is a small pinning procedure that needs to be performed. The pins are reversed and must be changed.
This will require a de-pinning and re-pinning procedure. This connector will require pinning tools to remove the wire. If this appears to be too difficult, please reach out to Customer Support and we'll need to exchange the harness with one that is properly pinned, but unfortunately you will have to undo the wiring that you had already ran. This article was created to avoid having to do an exchange which results in taking longer to getting this upgrade working as intended.
Pin 1 and pin 5 need to be reversed. (Signal 8 and 11)
Pin 2 and pin 3 need to be reversed. (Signal 9 and 10)
Alternatively if depinning is incredibly difficult, The wires can be chopped and soldered/posi-tapped to the correct wire. This is to be done at your own risk, because we won't be able to warranty a destroyed harness, we will need to sell a replacement harness.
