Try each of these steps in order. If one fixes your issue, you don't have to move to the next step. And if, for any reason, taking all these steps don't resolve your issue, there may be a physical issue with the unit, so please call us back.
1. Key Cycles:
- Turn off your vehicle and remove the key. If you have a push start make sure you turn off your ignition.
- Open the driver door to make sure that the radio turns off completely.
- Close the car door and wait until all the lights from your dash and cluster turns off.
- Wait for 10-15 seconds
- Start the car
- Test the unit.
*You may have to perform up to 6 Key Cycles before you see changes. If you still do not see changes please disconnect and reconnect the cables behind your radio.
2. Master Reset:
Radio systems typically all have some kind of reset in the settings. Most older systems (2009 older) may not have a reset option. Canbus reset is the best option for a radio that does not have any reset in the settings.
For FCA Systems
Mygig Radios RER/RHR have a Factory Reset in the Engineering menu. Please reference the KB for engineering menu and precautions for RER/RHR
Go to the Settings and you should see Reset to Factory Defaults/Factory Data Reset, press this option.
(If you do not see this press Help first)
3. CAN-bus Reset:
- Remove the negative cables from the vehicle battery, both batteries if the vehicle has two.
- Allow the negative lead(s) to stay disconnected for about 15-20 minutes.
4. Unplug then replug all connectors behind the radio and let the vehicle sleep for a few hours.
