Ford Sync 1 - Sync and Satellite Radio Issues

Ford Sync 1 - Sync and Satellite Radio Issues

If you do not have Sync - You will not gain (Sync) Bluetooth handsfree calling by upgrading to the Sync 1 GPS navigation radio. A factory-installed Sync module with wiring is required which cannot be added after-factory.

If you have Sync but not satellite radio - You will receive a GPS antenna with a pink connector as opposed to the multiplexer. This antenna will plug into the pink FAKRA port on the rear of the Sync 1 radio to allow the unit to receive a GPS signal. The antenna can be mounted just below the dash top beneath the windshield. If you want to add SiriusXM capability please be sure to purchase our U-SATMAG satellite radio antenna separately.

If you have both Sync and satellite radio - You will receive a multiplexer as noted in our advertisement. Plug your factory satellite radio connector (yellow) into the single end of the multiplexer. On the opposite side of the multiplexer, plug the two connectors into the rear of the Sync 1 radio.
